Zurich-Airport, 15th March 2010, swiss49 offers now an automated calculation of Flight Events Risk Index as defined by the ICAO Safety Management Systems SMS mandate (ICAO 9859).
Matthias HAEFLIGER, Manager and owner of swiss49 says that the provision of a Flight Safety events related Risk Index enables an airline to import Flight Data Monitoring events reports smoothly into the airlines overall Safety Management System. This by supporting the Risk Manager in its decision on the grading of relevant non-routine occurences based on one or more Flight Data Monitoring events triggerd from airborne Flight Data.
The calculation of the Risk Index is based on a thorough calibration process of each individual operators number of flight cycles per month. Therefore a full compliance with the proposed ICAO matrix is guaranteed.
